What is the Paleo Diet?  The paleo diet, also known as the caveman diet or paleolithic diet, is based on foods consumed during the paleolithic era.  The foods of our ancestors are still the foods best adapted to our metabolism today. Human genes have not changed enough over the past few millenia to adapt to our agriculture-based modern diet. In fact, our current genetic makeup is still 99.99% identical to those of our paleo ancestors!

The paleo diet consists of eating grass-fed meats, fish, vegetables, fruit, roots, and nuts, and excludes foods that were not available or rarely found during the paleolithic era such as grains, legumes, dairy products, salt, refined sugar, and processed oil.  Agriculture resulted in humans eating large amounts of dairy products, beans, cereals, grains, and alcohol.  This led to several nutritional changes that are thought to be the cause of many chronic illnesses that are present in modern society.

Paleo Diet eBookMy name is Ken Ross and I spent 10 years of my life suffering from countless health issues including chronic fatigue, sinusitis, and irritable bowel syndrome just to name a few.  I rarely left the house except to go to work and I actually forgot what it felt like to wake up feeling rested.  Finally a friend introduced me to the paleo diet.

A couple of weeks into the diet I woke up and a very strange feeling came over me.  I was alert and energized – it was as if I was seeing the world through brand new eyes!  Since that day I haven’t looked back.  I started noticing other mini miracles too: my sinuses cleared up, I never get stomach aches, and combining the paleo diet with exercise I lost 6 pounds and 4% body fat in the first month!
